New Commission Policy for Crystal Cruises

The New Year will bring a new commission policy for Crystal Cruises. In the past guests of the cruise line have had the option of booking future cruises with savings while still onboard a Crystal Cruises’ sailing. Commissions for these onboard bookings would go to the agent on record, but guests had the option of changing to another travel agent at that time. But starting January 1, 2008, if a Crystal Cruises passenger who is under deposit opts to change to another travel agent for an onboard booking, the new agent can only earn a maximum of 10% commission, which will not include any extra incentives or overrides. Crystal officials said this new policy is meant to reduce onboard solicitation and help to safeguard an agent’s client base as well as an agency’s records.
